  • Activated carbon filter included — adsorbs smoke, VOCs and household odours that can irritate sensitive airways
  • Whisper-quiet 23 dB on low — designed for overnight bedroom use without disrupting sleep, when allergen exposure is highest
  • Ozone-free and ioniser-free (certified) — no irritant by-products for asthma or respiratory sensitivity

FAQs

Who is the Sqair designed for? Allergy sufferers who want serious H12 HEPA filtration in a bedroom or small living room (up to ~40 m²) without smart features, app pairing, or display lights. Particularly suited to households focused on dust mite allergy, pollen, pet dander, or mould spore exposure; light sleepers (23 dB on low, with no illuminated panel); and anyone sensitive to the trace ozone produced by ioniser-equipped purifiers. The included activated carbon filter also makes it a fit for households dealing with smoke, cooking odours, or VOCs.

How long does the filter last? Approximately 9–12 months under normal Australian household use, depending on local air quality and runtime. Replacement HEPA and carbon filters are sold separately. Smart Air recommends not washing HEPA filters — washing reduces filter performance.

Is it loud? 23 dB on low — quieter than ambient room background (most users say it sounds like soft rainfall). 52 dB on high — similar to a quiet conversation. Most owners run it on low or mid for overnight bedroom use.

How big a room does it suit? For rapid allergen reduction (5 air changes per hour): up to ~10 m² in 5-minute cycles. For general air circulation in a larger space: up to ~40 m². In bedrooms over 15 m², run it continuously rather than intermittently.

Is it good for allergies? The H12 HEPA filter captures airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander, and mould spores at 0.3 microns per the EN 1822 H12 specification (≥99.5%). The activated carbon filter adsorbs household VOCs and odours. We don't claim it treats allergies — that's a medical question — but the filtration construction is what allergy-conscious households are after.

Does it produce ozone? No. The Sqair is Ozone-Free Certified. There's no ioniser stage, so no trace ozone by-product — meaningful if anyone in the household has asthma or respiratory sensitivity.

Does it remove odours and VOCs? Yes — the included activated carbon filter adsorbs smoke, cooking odours, and common household VOCs (off-gassing furniture, cleaning products, paint).

Care notes

The Sqair has no pre-filter — vacuum the carbon filter periodically to remove larger surface debris, which extends the HEPA filter's useful life. Don't wash the HEPA filter; replace when air output noticeably reduces or after 9–12 months.
