What this product is

A slip-on quilted protector that goes over your dust mite mattress encasement and absorbs the daily wear, sweat, and spills that would otherwise build up on the encasement itself. Both faces of the protector are pore-tested fabric — cotton on the front, TPU-laminated knit on the rear — so the polyester filling stays clean and what reaches the encasement underneath is a fraction of what reaches the protector.

• How the layered system works. The encasement underneath seals the mattress; the Mattress Mate over the top takes the daily contact. Allergens, skin cells, and spills collect on the surface of the Mattress Mate, where the cotton front holds them. A weekly wash with your normal bed linen cleans them off — the encasement underneath stays cleaner for longer and washes far less often.
• How the fabric layers work as a particle barrier. The cotton front has pores measured at approximately 2.8 microns at 90% cumulative filter flow; the TPU rear lining has pores measured at approximately 0.16 microns at maximum distribution (both third-party capillary flow porometry, Galwick fluid). Together, the two faces mean dust mite particles in the 10–40 micron range can't penetrate the filling from either side.

What the fabric does

Dust mite allergens are carried by fecal pellets and body fragments that typically measure 10 to 40 microns. This product has two pore-tested faces, both well below that range:

• Cotton front (OEKO-TEX certified). Approximately 2.8 microns at 90% cumulative filter flow (third-party capillary flow porometry, Galwick fluid). Skin-side surface is natural fibre, breathable, and absorbs daily wear.
• TPU rear lining. Approximately 0.16 microns at maximum distribution (third-party capillary flow porometry, Galwick fluid). Fully waterproof — blocks liquid spills, sweat, and accidents from reaching the encasement underneath.
• Quilted polyester filling. Soft, breathable, holds the cotton front and TPU rear apart.
• Wide elastic corner straps. Slip-on fit — no zipper, no removal of the mattress to install.

How to fit it

1. Place your dust mite mattress encasement on the mattress first (or check it's already fitted).
2. Lay the Mattress Mate over the top.
3. Pull each elastic corner strap under the corner of the mattress.
4. Smooth the fabric flat. Fitted sheets and bed linen go over the top as normal.

Care

• Wash: Machine wash on a warm or gentle cycle. Avoid hot water — high temperatures can damage the TPU lining over time.
• Frequency: Weekly with your bed linen.
• Dry: Tumble dry on warm. Avoid prolonged hot drying.
• Avoid: Bleach, ironing, natural and body oils outside of normal use.
• Front-loaders: Use a gentle setting in front-load washers.
