The Ionmax Lavish ION350 is a smart H13 HEPA air purifier with built-in ioniser, suited to medium-to-large Australian rooms up to 91 m². 4-stage filtration, real-time PM2.5 monitoring, WiFi app control, CADR of 350 m³/h, and quiet operation under 50 dB(A).
Allergy relief benefits
- H13 medical-grade HEPA filter captures ≥99.95% of airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander and mould spores at 0.3μm — True HEPA grade
- CADR 350 m³/h moves a high volume of air for rapid allergen reduction across medium-to-large rooms — supports main bedrooms, living rooms, home offices
- Activated carbon layer adsorbs household odours, smoke, and VOCs that can irritate sensitive airways
- Pre-filter captures pet hair and large dander before the HEPA — extends HEPA filter life in shedding-pet households
- SmartSens PM2.5 monitoring + colour-coded indicator shows allergen load in real time so you can see when conditions trigger reactions
- Auto mode ramps fan speed up when sensors detect particles — automatic response during pollen surges or dusty conditions
- WiFi app control lets you check air quality and adjust settings remotely from anywhere
- Quiet operation ≤50 dB(A) — lower fan speeds suitable for overnight bedroom use, when dust mite allergen exposure is highest
- Switchable ioniser — can be turned off if you'd prefer not to use it (see ioniser note below)

A note on the "antibacterial HEPA filter"
The "antibacterial" descriptor refers to a coating applied to the HEPA filter material to inhibit bacterial growth on the filter itself — it is not a claim that the unit kills bacteria or viruses circulating in the room. While the Ionmax product page describes the unit as effective against viral activity, our store's standard is to require independent ISO 22196 or AATCC 100 antibacterial test reports before propagating those claims, and Ionmax doesn't currently publish that test report for this filter. We report the manufacturer's specifications (HEPA grade, CADR, filter construction) and leave the broader claims to the manufacturer.
Important — a note on ionisers
The built-in ioniser produces trace ozone as a by-product (this is true of all negative-ion generators). For ozone-sensitive individuals (some asthma cases, some respiratory conditions), the ioniser can be switched off independently and the unit will continue to filter air through the HEPA and carbon stages. If you're unsure whether the ioniser is right for your household, please consult your healthcare professional before using ionising functions.
What it doesn't do
- Not a medical device. We don't make claims about treating asthma, allergies, viral infections or any other health condition.
- Doesn't dehumidify — for damp / condensation control, see our dehumidifier range.
- See the ioniser note above for trace-ozone disclosure.

The research behind HEPA filtration in allergy management
HEPA-grade air filtration is most-evidenced in the dust mite allergy literature for reducing airborne allergen levels — distinct from reservoir allergens that sit in bedding, carpets and soft furnishings. The 2024 review The Prevention of House Dust Mite Allergies in Pediatric Asthma (Calabria et al., Children, MDPI) concluded that single interventions deliver modest results but combined approaches deliver meaningful reductions in allergen exposure.
A HEPA air purifier addresses the airborne allergen layer; humidity control, bedding encasement and source removal address the other layers.
Why a multi-faceted approach works better than any single tool
A practical layered approach for an allergy-aware bedroom typically combines:
- Filtering airborne allergens — what this purifier does. Sits in the room where the person spends time.
- Reducing humidity — pair with a dehumidifier to keep RH at 40–50%, which reduces conditions favourable to dust mite activity.
- Tracking conditions — an air quality monitor or hygrometer confirms the room is actually in range.
- Encasing bedding — dust mite covers for mattress, pillows and quilt are the single most-evidenced bedroom intervention.
- Neutralising allergens on textiles — an allergen-neutralising spray treats sofas, rugs and other soft surfaces.
- Removing settled allergens — regular vacuuming and washing bed linens in hot water.
An air purifier on its own helps with airborne particles, but the research is clear: it works best as part of a layered approach.

FAQs
Who is the Lavish ION350 designed for? Australian households wanting smart, app-controlled H13 HEPA filtration in a medium-to-large room — main bedrooms, living rooms, home offices, or open-plan spaces up to 91 m². Particularly suited to allergy sufferers who want PM2.5 monitoring and real-time air-quality feedback, households who value smartphone control and Auto-mode response, and anyone seeking visible reassurance about the air they're breathing. Not a dehumidifier — pair with one if humidity is also a concern.
What room size is the Lavish suited to? Up to 91 m² (manufacturer-stated). In practice, "coverage area" for an air purifier depends on ceiling height and how many air changes per hour (ACH) you want — 91 m² is roughly the upper end at 5 ACH, which is the typical industry target for allergy-aware bedroom use.
How does CADR translate to actual room size? CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) measures the volume of clean air the unit produces per hour. At a CADR of 350 m³/h, the unit can refresh roughly 70–90 m² of a 2.4 m-high room every 12 minutes (5 ACH). In larger rooms or with higher ceilings, the air refresh rate slows.
Does the ioniser produce ozone? Yes, in trace amounts — this is true of all negative-ion generators. If this is a concern, the ioniser can be switched off independently and the unit will continue to filter air through the HEPA and carbon stages. For an ozone-free certified purifier with no ioniser stage, see our SmartAir Sqair, SA-600 or Blast range.
How loud is it? ≤50 dB(A) at top speed. Lower fan speeds are suitable for bedroom use overnight.
Is it good for allergies? The H13 medical-grade HEPA filter captures airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander, and mould spores at 0.3 microns per the EN 1822 H13 specification (≥99.95%). The activated carbon layer adsorbs household odours and VOCs. We don't claim it treats allergies — that's a medical question — but the construction is what allergy-conscious households are after. Research (Calabria et al., 2024) suggests HEPA filtration works best as part of a layered approach alongside bedding encasement and humidity control.
Care notes
- Replace the H13 HEPA filter per the Ionmax recommended interval based on usage
- Vacuum or rinse the pre-filter monthly to extend HEPA life
- Wipe the cabinet with a dry cloth
- Use on a level surface
- Don't operate the unit immediately after moving it from cold storage — let it equalise to room temperature first

Let customers speak for us
from 14 reviewsEfficient postage, easy to put onto the mattress, duvet etc. Daughter finds it comfortable and soft.
We purchased mattress , pillow and duvet encasement for kids due to their dust mite allergy.
Quality is great and delivery was earlier than expected.
Shipping was fast and efficient. The quality of the pillow is so much better than the one we bought from kmart. However it's not for us as it's on the thick side and will cause back pain used for a long period
Great product that was delivered quickly. I really like how the SmartAir HEPA filters need replacing every 22 months instead of every six months like most air purifiers. Great value for money.
Comfy as I want it
I love my quilt cover and pillowcases!
Lovely quality and they’ve made all the difference to my allergies and therefore my sleep!
We ordered this mattress for my son who has a dust mite allergy - it arrived quickly (and in a box, which made it super easy to move to the room we needed it in) and it was easy to unpackage and get on the bed. So far he is finding it very comfortable to sleep on.
So far I’m really loving this doona cover. Very comfortable,
Great duvet! It's soft and keeps the dust away so I don't sneeze. It's just right for sleeping all year. I'm really happy with it!
