A set of 2 standard size pillows with a shredded gel-infused memory foam fill and a removable bamboo blend cover. According to the manufacturer, this pillow is hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant and mould resistant.

Memory foam conforms to body shape under pressure and returns to its original shape when released. The shredded fill — rather than a single solid block — makes the pillow adjustable: remove fill through the zipper to reduce loft, or leave it full for firmer support.

The bamboo blend cover is breathable and moisture-wicking. Suits side and back sleepers. Stomach sleepers may find memory foam too high — removing some fill through the zipper can help.

  • Removable cover with zip closure — machine washable
  • According to the manufacturer, hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant and mould resistant
  • Reduces pressure points on the neck and shoulders
  • Set of 2 pillows — good value per pillow at $55 for the pair

Using this pillow in an allergy-aware bedroom

According to the manufacturer, this pillow is hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant and mould resistant. A review published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice (Wilson & Platts-Mills, 2018) found that the odds of successful avoidance are significantly higher with a multi-faceted approach — combining physical barriers, humidity control, washing routines and air purification — than with any single measure alone.

Encasing the pillow in a dust mite pillow protector is widely considered one of the most practical steps for reducing allergen exposure at the surface closest to your face. For a full guide to building an allergy-aware bedroom, visit our low allergen bedroom hub.

A complete allergy-aware bedroom typically includes:

  • Dust mite covers — physical barriers for your pillow, quilt and mattress
  • A dehumidifier — keeping humidity below 50% limits dust mite survival
  • An air purifier — reduces airborne allergen particles
  • A HEPA vacuum — helps reduce allergen from carpets, rugs and upholstery

It's worth noting that "hypoallergenic" is not a regulated or standardised term in Australia — there is no official threshold a product must meet to carry the label. The manufacturer's claim reflects their own assessment rather than a certified standard.
