A 1000GSM bamboo polyester blend pillowtop topper that adds a soft, cushioning layer to a firm or ageing mattress. According to the manufacturer, this topper is anti-bacterial, dust mite resistant and anti-allergy.

The bamboo polyester blend fill is more breathable than standard polyester microfibre — worth considering if you tend to sleep warm. Sewn pocket construction keeps the fill evenly distributed and prevents it bunching or going lumpy with use.

A fully fitted elastic skirt holds it in place over mattresses up to 45cm thick. No straps, no clips — just pull it on like a fitted sheet.

This topper suits people who want to add softness to a firm mattress. It's not designed for those needing postural or pressure-relief support — for that, a latex or memory foam topper is a better fit.

Using this mattress topper in an allergy-aware bedroom

According to the manufacturer, this topper is anti-bacterial, dust mite resistant and anti-allergy. Research indicates the odds of successful dust mite avoidance are much higher when multiple strategies are combined rather than relying on a single measure alone (Wilson & Platts-Mills, 2018).

Because mattress toppers sit between the mattress and the sheet, they are in close contact with the mattress — one of the densest dust mite habitats in the bedroom. Encasing both the topper and mattress in dust mite covers provides a physical barrier at both layers. For a full guide to building an allergy-aware bedroom, visit our low allergen bedroom hub.

A complete allergy-aware bedroom typically includes:

  • Dust mite covers — physical barriers for your topper, mattress, pillow and quilt
  • A dehumidifier — keeping humidity below 50% limits dust mite survival
  • An air purifier — reduces airborne allergen particles
  • A HEPA vacuum — helps reduce allergen from carpets, rugs and upholstery

It's worth noting that terms like 'anti-bacterial,' 'dust mite resistant' and 'anti-allergy' are not regulated or standardised in Australia. There is no official threshold a product must meet to carry these labels — the manufacturer's claims reflect their own assessment rather than a certified standard.
