Allergy relief benefits

  • Dual H13 HEPA filters capture ≥99.95% of airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander and mould spores at 0.3μm — Smart Air's highest-grade filtration
  • CADR 500 m³/h moves a high volume of air for rapid allergen reduction in bedrooms, living rooms, and open-plan spaces
  • Dual activated carbon filters adsorb smoke, VOCs, and household odours that can irritate sensitive airways
  • Two washable pre-filters capture pet hair and dander first — extends HEPA life and helps allergen-prone households with shedding pets
  • Whisper-quiet 23 dB on low — designed for overnight bedroom use without disrupting sleep
  • Ozone-free and ioniser-free (certified) — no irritant by-products for asthma or respiratory sensitivity
  • Child lock function — keeps settings stable in family households
  • Sealed HEPA filtration — captured allergens stay captured, not recirculated back into your breathing zone

FAQs

Who is the SA-600 designed for? Households with larger bedrooms, living rooms, or open-plan spaces up to 60 m² who want serious H13 medical-grade HEPA filtration without an ioniser stage. Particularly suited to allergy sufferers with shedding pets (the two washable pre-filters trap hair and dander first), households dealing with dust mite allergy, pollen, mould spores, or smoke; light sleepers (23 dB on low); families needing a child lock; and anyone sensitive to the trace ozone produced by ioniser-equipped purifiers. Strong fit for classrooms, home offices, and shared family rooms.

How often should I replace the filters? Approximately every 12 months for the HEPA filters under normal household use (8 hrs/day). The activated carbon filters typically last similar. The pre-filters are washable and don't need replacement — vacuum or rinse them monthly to extend the life of the HEPA filters. Replacement HEPA and carbon filters are sold separately as 2-packs.

How loud is it? 23 dB on low (quieter than a whisper, suitable for bedroom overnight use); 52.5 dB on high (similar to a quiet conversation, fine for living areas during the day). Most owners run it on medium (39 dB) for daily use.

How big a room does it suit? Up to 60 m² for full purification-grade air change in 16 minutes (about 4 air changes per hour at high speed). For a smaller room, run it on medium or low — the unit is designed to be quiet enough for continuous operation.

Is it good for allergies? The dual H13 HEPA filters capture airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander, and mould spores at 0.3 microns per the EN 1822 H13 specification (≥99.95%). The washable pre-filters trap pet hair and large allergens before they reach the HEPA, which matters in households with shedding pets. We don't claim it treats allergies — that's a medical question — but the construction is what allergy-conscious households are after.

Does it produce ozone? No. The SA-600 is Ozone-Free Certified. There's no ioniser stage and no UV/photocatalytic stage — meaningful if anyone in the household has asthma or respiratory sensitivity. Many high-CADR purifiers in this price band include ioniser stages, which can produce trace ozone as a by-product.

Why does the filter change indicator come on early? Smart Air notes that the indicator is calibrated for high-pollution environments (Chinese AQI levels). In typical Australian household conditions, the filters often last beyond when the indicator first activates — check the filters visually before replacing. If they still look clean and the unit is producing good airflow, you can usually leave them for several more weeks. Hold the indicator down for 4 seconds to reset.

Does it remove odours and VOCs? Yes — the dual activated carbon filters adsorb cooking odours, smoke, formaldehyde, paint VOCs, and common household chemical residues.

Care notes

Vacuum or rinse the two pre-filters monthly — this extends the HEPA filter life significantly. Don't wash the HEPA filters; replace when air output noticeably reduces or after ~12 months. The dual-inlet design means there are two complete filter sets to maintain.
